How much does TikTok pay? Through its Creator Rewards Program, TikTok pays creators roughly $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 qualified views, depending on engagement, watch time, search value and where the audience is located.

That’s the direct answer; the useful answer takes a page, because eligibility rules decide whether you see any of it, the old Creator Fund numbers still float around the internet confusing everyone, and for professionals the payout programme is the least valuable thing views can earn.

I’m Daniel, I run a short form video agency whose edits have passed 100 million views, so this is a question we get weekly. Here’s the full picture.

In this guide:

THE SHORT VERSION

  • Creator Rewards pays roughly $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 qualified views
  • Eligibility: 10,000 followers plus 100,000 views in the past 30 days
  • Only original videos longer than one minute earn from the programme
  • The old Creator Fund paid $0.02 to $0.04; articles quoting that are outdated

TikTok’s pay per view, in real numbers

Working from the widely reported $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 qualified views under Creator Rewards:

Qualified viewsEstimated Creator Rewards payout
100,000$40 to $100
1,000,000$400 to $1,000
10,000,000$4,000 to $10,000

“Qualified” is the word doing the work: only views that meet TikTok’s criteria count (genuine views in eligible regions on eligible videos), so the payout dashboard always reads lower than the view counter. Rates also swing by niche and audience: finance and business content tends to earn at the top of the range, entertainment at the bottom, because the programme rewards watch time and search value rather than raw reach. If you want your own numbers rather than the table, put them into the TikTok money calculator. It runs the eligibility check first and uses the same reported rates.

Who’s eligible for Creator Rewards

  • A personal account in good standing, 18 or older
  • At least 10,000 followers
  • At least 100,000 video views in the past 30 days
  • Videos must be longer than one minute and original to earn rewards
  • Available in a short list of countries including the US, UK, Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, Brazil and Mexico

The one-minute rule surprises people most: a 30-second clip can do five million views and earn nothing from the programme. TikTok has also tightened originality rules, so reposted clips, lightly edited podcast cuts and recycled footage are excluded.

Why you’ve seen much lower numbers: the old Creator Fund

Until it was wound down, TikTok’s original Creator Fund paid an infamous $0.02 to $0.04 per 1,000 views, which is where every “I got 10 million views and earned $300” story comes from. Creator Rewards replaced it with roughly 10 to 20 times higher rates in exchange for the one-minute minimum and stricter quality rules. Any article quoting two to four cents is describing the old programme.

The money that doesn’t come from TikTok

For almost every serious account, the platform payout is the smallest line. The larger ones: brand partnerships (where a mid-size niche account can out-earn months of Rewards with a single deal), TikTok Shop commissions, LIVE gifts, and affiliate income. Then there’s the category this site exists for: views as a client engine. A consultant, agency owner, advisor or dentist doesn’t need a million views to make TikTok pay; they need a few thousand of the right people to watch, trust and book. One client engagement is typically worth more than a year of Creator Rewards money, which is why professionals measure TikTok in booked calls rather than RPM.

How to actually increase what TikTok pays you

  • Cross the one-minute line deliberately. Structure videos so the depth justifies 60+ seconds; padding kills the watch time that sets your rate.
  • Chase search value. Videos answering real queries earn at higher rates and keep earning. Our TikTok SEO guide covers the mechanics.
  • Hold completion. Hooks, pacing and captions: the same levers from our guide to going viral on TikTok decide your effective rate, because the programme pays for watched minutes, not impressions.
  • Post volume. Rewards scale with total qualified views across the month, and daily posting is how the 100k/30-day threshold stops being a worry.

Done-for-you, if the views are a means to an end

If you’re a creator, the playbooks above are the job. If you’re a founder or professional and the real question is “how do I make TikTok pay in clients”, that’s the system we run: strategy, scripts, filming direction, editing, daily posting and DM funnels, measured on booked calls. Here’s how the TikTok marketing service works, or book a call below and I’ll tell you exactly what we’d post if we were you.

Frequently asked questions

How much does TikTok pay per 1,000 views?

Roughly $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 qualified views through the Creator Rewards Program, with the exact rate driven by watch time, engagement, search value and audience region. The often-quoted $0.02 to $0.04 figure belongs to the discontinued Creator Fund.

How many followers do you need to get paid on TikTok?

10,000 followers plus 100,000 video views in the past 30 days, an account in good standing, and being 18 or older in an eligible country. Brand deals, TikTok Shop and affiliate income have no follower threshold at all, which is why many smaller accounts earn more off-programme than on it.

Does TikTok pay for videos under one minute?

Not through Creator Rewards: only original videos longer than one minute earn from the programme. Short clips still build reach, followers and search presence, which feed everything else, but the payout metre only runs past the 60-second mark.

How do businesses make money on TikTok without the Creator Rewards Program?

By treating views as a client engine rather than the product: educational content that builds trust, a profile that routes attention to a booking link, and DM automation that converts interest into calls. For a service business, one client typically out-earns a year of payout money.
